Description
Another model from the Tomoko Fuse book.
This model’s name is “Hanahoshi Hakkaku Kiriko” (花星八角切子) – This one actually has a translation. “Hanahoshi” is star flower, “Hakkaku” is octagon or star anise seed, and “Kiriko” is a faceted object. A very straight-forward name, as you’ll be able to see from the pictures.
This one actually came out quite small; in hindsight, I should have used 15cm squares instead of quartering into 7.5cm pieces. As a result, the accompanying Sonobe cubes came out tiny. Making the star pieces was the hardest part, because I had to cut out decently regular octagons before I could start, which could lead to folding errors if done wrong.
